The ummah has evolved since the inception of Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research.
What began as a dream, nurtured in a room of thinkers, has become a compass for millions. Yaqeen is now a staple of Ramadan, a trusted resource for questions, and a guiding force for a generation seeking clarity.
In the early days, our mission was clear and urgent: to counter the tide of Islamophobia and equip Muslims with the tools to affirm their faith in a post-9/11 world. We stood as a shield against the doubts cast by external forces. Now the ummah’s needs have grown, and so have we.
Allah has made possible milestones once unimagined: millions of views, readers, and curriculum downloads—and countless hearts that found exactly what they needed. Now, as we recalibrate our compass, we focus on meeting your evolving needs and charting the course for future generations of leaders.
Yaqeen is driven by ihsan (excellence) and itqan (precision). We push boundaries in research, media, production, and tech to deliver quality resources that are rooted in revelation and ready for tomorrow.
In a world of shifting tides and competing ideologies, Yaqeen is the compass—steady, clear, unwavering—guiding souls back to Allah and the Qur’an.

The compass remains a central symbol in Yaqeen’s identity.
Much like the compass universally points north, Yaqeen seeks to orient hearts toward the Truth. At sea: darkness and doubts cloud our vision and obscures direction, but the compass, steady and reliable, offers clarity and hope. It embodies ‘ayn al-Yaqeen and ‘ilm al-Yaqeen—a truth so evident it cannot be unseen, a conviction so deep it cannot be undone.
Its simplicity is its power. The compass is understood by all as a universal indicator of guidance, safety, and exploration.
It is a call to remain steadfast on the Straight Path (Sirat al-Mustaqeem).
The new design draws from the timeless 8-pointed star in Islamic geometry, symbolizing harmony and deep-rooted heritage. This ancient form evolves into a modern, abstract compass that bridges Islamic tradition with a global, digital-first identity.
Reflecting Allah’s oneness, Islamic geometry whispers of infinity. By reintroducing this legacy, we create a symbol that is both timeless and modern—guiding hearts and minds toward the Divine.
Yaqeen points the way
As the modern world spins our moral compasses wildly, Yaqeen reorients hearts, guiding them to the One Truth.
This refresh is not just a change in look, but a deeper expression of our mission. We are proud to reintroduce our identity, anchored in Islamic heritage, yet future-focused, pointing toward the truth of Allah’s signs.
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةًۭ يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوا۟ ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ
As Allah says, "And We made from among them leaders, guiding by Our command when they were patient and certain of Our signs."
