As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Welcome back to another episode of Allah Loves. Because we have spoken so much about these attributes and these qualities that we are to attain that are really human manifestations or human vehicles of the things that Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala has prescribed for himself in many of these situations. We have to recognize out of all of this that we have a lord who is loving, who is merciful, who is not cruel, who is generous and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the process of that
does not want to torture his servants. And this is actually a very powerful understanding of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that we take from the Prophet peace be upon him. Especially now in Ramadan when we have the option for example of delaying our fast a
little bit or making our suhoor much earlier. The Prophet peace be upon him narrates to us that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves that you accept his concessions.
In the narration of Imam Ahmad rahimullah the same way that he loves that you avoid the things that are acts of disobedience to him. Allah loves that you accept his gifts. Allah loves that you take the ease that he has given to you. He loves that you take his concessions.
In the narration the way that he loves that you take the harder things, the more difficult things, the things that have an inherent level of struggle and burden in them. Allah loves that you take advantage of the things that he has made easy for you.
So for example in Ramadan Allah does not want you to torture yourself. If a person is traveling and it is difficult in their travel then Allah loves that a person breaks their fast because Allah has given a gift to the one who is traveling that they take advantage of that.
That they do not have to fast that day. So Allah does not want you to hurt yourself in travel. The Prophet peace be upon him saw two groups of companions and he said the reward belongs to those who broke their fast in travel because they took the gift of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
If a people are traveling do they pray qasr, do they shorten their prayer or do they pray the full length. And this is actually the context of the hadith at least in one of the narrations that the Prophet peace be upon him taught us that we should pray the shortened prayers when we
travel that it is actually more rewardable to pray the shortened prayers when we travel. Because we are following the sunnah of the Prophet peace be upon him in accepting a concession from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and accepting a gift from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
When we break our fast the Prophet peace be upon him told us that the most beloved of those to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. أحب عبادي إليّ أعجرهم فطرًا The most beloved of those of my servants to me are those who break their fast the quickest.
Allah does not want you to delay your breaking your fast because maybe if I give it a few extra minutes I will torture myself. No Allah wants you at the time of Maghrib as soon as Maghrib comes in to go ahead and to eat your date to drink your sips of water and to break your fast.
Allah wants you to delay your suhoor until the time of Fajr until the time when suhoor is no longer acceptable because that shows that you are taking advantage of the gifts that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given to you. You have a Lord that loves to be generous.
Remember that we are going to be saying in the last 10 nights of Ramadan or we have been saying in the last 10 nights of Ramadan اللهم إنك عفو كريم تحب العفو فاعفوا عنا That oh Allah you are forgiving and generous.
You love to forgive so forgive us. You love to forgive so forgive us. And the Prophet peace be upon him tied that to his generosity as well. So just as Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves to forgive you Allah loves to be generous
with you Allah loves that you accept his gifts when he gives them to you. This does not mean taking the rukhsah and fatwa which is to take the easiest fatwa all the time. This means that when there is something that is of ease that is embedded within the legislation
embedded within the shariah embedded within fiqh embedded within our worship that we take that and we thank Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for it and that is an expression of gratitude
to Allah in and of itself and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves to pardon he loves to forgive he loves to make things easy for us. يريد الله ليخفف عنكم Allah says in the Quran that he wants to lighten
the burden upon you. يريد الله بكم اليسر ولا يريد بكم العصر Allah desires for you ease not hardship and that actually came that ayah which we read in surah al-baqarah came in
the capacity of Allah making the concession for the sick person and the traveling person to not fast. So don't hurt yourself and say that it is for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Take the ease that Allah has given to you thank Allah for it and that is the most rewarding
thing that you can possibly do with a Lord that loves to forgive a Lord that loves to be generous and a Lord that loves that you accept his gifts. May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala make us amongst those people that attain his forgiveness that
are recipients of his gifts in this life and in the hereafter. Allahumma ameen. Jazakum Allah khairan wa salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh.
