Dr. Louay Fatoohi was born in Baghdad, Iraq, to a Christian family. He reverted to Islam in his early ‎twenties. He has a BSc in physics from Baghdad University and a PhD in astronomy from Durham University. He has published extensively on Islamic studies, in particular history in the Qur’an, comparative religion, and Sufism.
