Dr. Samir Sweida-Metwally is an interdisciplinary quantitative social scientist. His research examines religious and ethnic labour market inequalities in Britain, with a particular focus on the experience of Muslims. His research, which has been published in Ethnic and Racial Studies, has garnered significant media attention in leading national and international outlets, as well as having been referenced in the European Islamophobia Report 2022. Samir holds a PhD in Advanced Quantitative Methods from the University of Bristol (funded by the ESRC), an MSc in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford (funded by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies), an MSc in Political Theory from the LSE, and a BSc (Hons) in Economics from Brunel University. During his PhD, Samir also completed a One Year Diploma in Islamic Studies with iSyllabus. He is trilingual in English, Arabic and French.
