Yaqeen Institute is excited to launch its very first Summer Internship Program, taking place in Dallas, TX from June 16, 2025 to August 8, 2025. We are currently seeking interns for the Engineering, UI/UX, Media, Human Resources, and Finance and Operations teams.
This paid, eight-week program is designed to empower the next generation of Muslim leaders through professional development, hands-on experience, and deep immersion in the Islamic non-profit space. Join us and build your network and skills in a professional, faith-driven environment. This is your chance to work at a cutting-edge organization, learn from talented professionals, and contribute to meaningful work that impacts the lives of millions worldwide.
Applications are open for a week, and close on Friday, May 9th, at 3pm CT. If we find an alignment between your education, skills and experience and what we are looking for, we will be in touch. Space is limited, and competition is strong - don’t wait to submit your application!
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide student visas or cover relocation. Hiring interns full-time after graduation depends on a number of factors, and is not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
- ENGINEERING:
- Build, experiment and explore creative ideas using AI tools to help us better serve Yaqeen’s global audience.
- Test and evaluate a wide range of AI tools (chatbots, video/audio generators, coding copilots, etc.), documenting key strengths, limitations and creative use cases.
- Build small demos, prototypes or creative experiments (“vibe code”) using AI tools to showcase ideas or solve micro-problems.
- Document findings in clear reports or demos to share learnings from your experiments.
- Stay up to date with emerging AI trends and recommend tools or workflows worth adopting internally.
- UI/UX:
- Design and prototype experimental ideas in Figma to improve user experience for Yaqeen’s audience.
- Use Figma to design creative prototypes for new ideas. Explore experimental design directions and contribute to early-stage product concepts.
- Think through user journeys to surface opportunities for better experiences.
- Collaborate with the UI/UX team by researching inspiring interfaces, trends and presenting explorations.
- MEDIA:
- Contribute to our content creation and storytelling efforts across various digital platforms.
- Film and edit original microcontent in Adobe.
- Assist with various series as needed.
- HUMAN RESOURCES:
- Support talent development, team engagement, and organizational culture initiatives.
- Assist in organizing and supporting employee engagement initiatives and internal culture-building activities.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Participate in HR meetings and contribute to strategic discussions around organizational growth and team well-being.
- FINANCE AND OPERATIONS:
- Learn the backbone of non-profit management, budgeting, and strategy.
- Create/modify an online repository or shared folders for storage of key documents for Finance, Operations, and Legal.
- Establish a system to inventory, tag, and track Yaqeen’s physical assets, ensuring alignment with HR where necessary.
- Build an ordering form for staff to request specific items for bi-weekly or monthly order placement.
- Other financial reporting or data related projects.
Required skills
- At least 18 years old, and enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate/graduate program (Spring 2025)
- Available in-person in Dallas, TX for the entire duration of the program
- Academically strong and intellectually curious
- Actively engaged in student organizations, volunteer work, community work, etc.
- Embodies Yaqeen’s mission and values
- Effective communication and strong collaboration skills
- Eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a rapidly growing organization
